Director of Charter Accused of Theft

The Chicago Tribunehas reported that the CEO of Chicago Virtual Charter School, Cheryl Pruitt, may be facing charges of theft from when she was Gary Superintendent, and her job may be in jeopardy. “Pruitt’s attorney Scott King said there was no intention to defraud the school system. ‘I’m having difficulty understanding (why) they brought criminal charges,’ King said on Wednesday night. It was ‘at worst, a bookkeeping error by someone.’”
